Greetings Students!
The District Music Festival (held at Jefferson College, Hillsboro) is
the last weekend in March. However entries must be submitted
on-line in just a few weeks.
Those of you planning to do solos or small ensembles MUST
have your music selected this week! There will be a form to fill
out in the band room on Tuesday. You will also need to play part
of your selection for Mr. Hermach or myself this week as well.
If you have not made a final choice yet, or cannot find a solo
or small ensemble, let me know and I will help you.
The Jazz Band will be playing at 6:30ish in the commons for
the "freshman parents night" at the high school THIS TUESDAY!
Everyone is welcome to come and listen.
Have a great Sunday and Monday.
Mr. Wisdom

02.05.2008 Drumline message from Mr. Hermach
Dear Students and Parents,
It is that time of year again to start pre-season rehearsals for drumline. This year we will be rehearsing from 6:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. on Thursdays in the High School Bandroom. Conducting these sessions will be Aaron and Dave Ringle as well as myself (Mr. Hermach).
The purpose of these rehearsals is to give the drumline students a chance to develop their skills on a marching drum or frontline percussion of their choice. We will allow students to move around on the drums or keyboards during each session and through out this pre-season period. By May, assignments will be made as to which instrument each student will have for the 2008 fall marching band season.
Attendance is not mandatory during the months of February-May for drumline but positions will be awarded based on each students understanding and mastery of the battery or frontline percussion instruments. So, it would be in each students interest to attend as many rehearsals as possible. I would appreciate verbal or written notice when a student is unable to make a rehearsal so that I can plan each weeks objectives.
The following weeks we will NOT have a drumline rehearsal:
February 28th H.S. Musical
March 20th Spring Break
May 1st H.S. Band Concert
May 8th H.S. Band Trip.
We are looking forward to building an outstanding drumline for this fall and having a lot of fun doing so.
Thank you,
Steve Hermach
